About

Pittsburgh-based, Voices for Christ have an exceptional way of touching the core of their audience’s heart with their music ministry. Performing original songs that spring directly from the scripture, or covering songs of such gospel stalwarts as Richard Smallwood, Hezekiah Walker or Donnie McClurkin their disciplined harmonies, clear articulation and emotional delivery has the power to invoke a profound response in anyone, often inspiring them into action.

Following in the classical tradition of great vocal groups like the Temptations, Dells and more recently, Boys to Men, The Voices for Christ made the transition from singing in youth choirs, to secular music, before moving on to their custom blend of spirituals, Rhythm & Blues, jazz and world music known as contemporary gospel. The sound of The Voices for Christ is based on the unique blend of their voices and was shaped from the very beginning by their choral experience. It can shift in a heartbeat from a whisper, to individual leads, to what almost sounds like a full choir.

The Voices for Christ were founded in 1986 and over the last 30 years have won numerous awards. Among them, is winning the nationally and highly prestigious, McDonald’s Gospelfest Quartet Division in 2017. They have performed dozens of concerts, locally and nationally to critical acclaim. In their travels, they have opened for such gospel stalwarts as Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, and Hezekiah Walker. They have also appeared on the highly respected and long running, Bobby Jones Gospel Hour on BET. Their first international album, More Like You, was released by the Tate Music Group, a Christian family-owned, record company based in Mustang, Oklahoma in 2013.

"Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I, send me."
